‘I want to Fish’ service is a leading edge Digital Transformation delivered through the GOV UK site to enable fisherman to purchase Fishing Rod Licences and offer them an end to end journey. With 1.2Million customers a year and over £40Million pounds worth of transactions

We designed and develop a fully GDS compliant solution using Open source, Commodity services with an integration layer to protect both the web sales part and customer CRM. The initial 4months of the project was all about prototyping end-to-end solutions using all the top offerings from G-Cloud and recommended Gartner offerings.

Within a team of 4 developers we developed working prototypes using the following technologies and fed these back into the Enterprise Architecture for future proofing the strategic vision for Defra and Environment Agency.

  • Fish Service - Prototyped Technologies:
  • UX and Web sales Integration Tier CRM back-end Node – Hapi
  • Using the GDS Developer Kit
  • Jenkins for CI
  • Hosted on AWS EC2 micro servers
  • Mulesoft, Tibco, WS02, AWS Services and Micro Services Suite CRM, Sales-Force, MS Dynamics, Sugar CRM

The prototyping worked really well and gave a real hands on evaluation for the product choices which lead into passing the alpha GDS assessment. The technology stack was decided and developed using following product choices:
